Toobz- iPhone App Review
July 21st, 2009Hey, this time around the block I’ll be reviewing an app called Toobz.
Toobz is a challenging, fast-paced game that brings together quick reactions, planning, and a little bit of luck.
The objective of the game is to make a water system out of “toobz”, starting for a randomly placed starting point, for the water to flow through without being spilled. The pipe system is constructed on a 5×6 board where you place the shown piece by clicking on a square on the board. After the designated time has elapsed the water will begin to run regardless of the state of construction. There are two modes Classic Toobz, which shows the current piece, or Show Toobz, which shows the upcoming four pieces, and four difficulty levels: Free, Easy, Medium, and Hard. And rounding out the features, is the ability to Tweet your scores, which I don’t personally use because it seems spammy to me. There are two versions, paid for $0.99, and free.
I personally like to use this app when I’m bored, or need to unwind. I keep it on the second screen of my iPod and like to use it when I’m at home lazing around doing nothing. In my opinion it is a well constructed application. I have rarely run into any flaws, and do not see any shortcomings. I don’t see the need to buy the paid version so I just stick with the free version.
I would recommend the app to anyone and I personally like to use it a lot.
Final Grade: A-
Download the Free Version, or the Paid Version.
