Customer Service is something that no Geek wants to deal with, doesn’t matter what company it is. But, we all have to deal with it, whether we like it or not. Lots of people have been debating on Twitter as to which company has the best customer service. There were people who debated that Verizon, Comcast, and Apple have the best. Other people debated that Verizon, Comcast, and Dell are the worst for customer service. I actually called every single one of these companies at one time or another throughout my geek career so i’ll go through each and every one of these companies, and then give them a rating out of 10 points. 10 is really good, 1 is crap.

Verizon

Verizon’s customer service in my book, is almost non-existant. Pretty much every time after I ended a call with Verizon, nothing has been resolved. So it’s almost as if they don’t have customer service. Since I already made a post on Verizon’s service, refer to this post as the story as to why I don’t like Verizon’s Customer Service.

Final Score: 0.75/10

Comcast

To be honest, I was never a fan of Comcast until the Fall of 2009. I knew about ComcastCares, but I never believed that he would answer. But after I got fed up with Verizon and switched to comcast, ComcastCares replied to me within almost a minute of me DM’ing him asking for information on the Internet package that Comcast had in my area. Not to mention, he also has about 30 other representatives who get any DM he gets, so if Comcastcares is away there are still other reps who are available to help. But, their calling support is also pretty good. Unlike Verizon, Comcast’s representatives actually speak the English language properly. Even people with accents are perfectly understandable, unlike Verizon.

Final Score: 9.8/10

Dell

I honestly love Dell’s products. I have a beautiful 23 inch monitor and I’m loving it. However, what I don’t love, is their customer service. It just blows. You call them, you need to then wait 10 minutes since there is a higher call volume than usual(surprises me since people don’t really have all that many issues with Dell products), and then when you are greeted finally by a human being, you at first think they are not speaking English. I called Dell a few weeks ago to ask where my monitor is and I left the call STILL not knowing what happened. I made a rant post here

Final Score: 4.25/10

Apple

I’ve only had to call Apple maybe once or twice, but both times Apple has given me extraordinary customer support. Their hold music is actual music, and they all help out greatly. They don’t seem to have a script, as in, everytime I call I hear a different method of troubleshooting, unlike Verizon. There are also rumors that they might join twitter, since Twitter.com/apple is no longer squatted.

Final Score: 9.91/10

The last company is Time Warner. Now, I’ve never called Time Warner but I do have a friend, Joey Banks who called Time Warner and had lots of issues with customer support. I also heard along since I was on skype with him, and it sure sounded a lot like Verizon. He says they never help, and always redirect him to other customer support lines, and nothing happens in the end.

Joey’s Rating of Time Warner: 2/10

Those are the companies i’ve dealt with and how good their Customer service is. If you disagree, comments are welcome.
