Last Friday, I received my Netflix disk in the mail allowing me to watch Netflix movies on my Nintendo Wii. I have been a part of Netflix for about 3 years now, and have loved the entire experience. I really started to enjoy it when they started their “INstantly Watch” feature on their website. I really was excited to see a Netflix feature when I got my Xbox 360 and I definitely put it to good use. Now, the Wii finally has the Netflix feature and I must say, it works FLAWLESSLY. I was a little hesitant at first when I heard that Netflix was coming to the Wii because it’s Wi-Fi capabilities are a bit weak, especially if it’s going to come to streaming high quality movies and TV shows. I was also expecting the UI to be a bit crappy. However, I was proven wrong when I popped the Netflix disc in and tried it out last Friday. The UI is very simple and not to ugly, and it works similarly to the Xbox 360 Netflix option. The thing that really blew me away is when I started up a TV show and a movie. First of all, my router is all the way in the back of the house in my room, and I have my Wii in the front of the house in the living room, so I only get 1 bar of Wi-Fi. The movie showed up in high quality and it did not buffer one bit throughout the length of the TV show and movie. It didn’t even take that long to retrieve the movie and TV show. I am extremely impressed and highly recommend you get this disc free from Netflix if you have a Wii. It also gives you an excuse to go dust off your Wii since you’ve probably been playing Modern Warfare 2 for the past 5 months :p
